Futures Bets Announced Betting to start 2/7/08
The dates have been set for the opening of the futures pools for the betting of the 2008 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky
Oaks.
The betting pools for the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks Future Wagers will again run at the same time.
Subject to final approval from the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority, the dates for the wagers will be:
Pool 1: Feb. 7-10
Pool 2: March 6-9
Pool 3: April 3-6
The Thursday-through-Sunday betting pools for the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks Future Wagers run from about noon the starting date until 6
or 6:30 the closing date
The 2008 Kentucky Derby Future Wager will be the 10th year that horseracing has had a future bet.
The 134th running of the $2-million guaranteed Kentucky Derby presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), America’s premier race for 3-year-old
Thoroughbreds at 1 ¼ miles, is scheduled for May 3 at Churchill.
The Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks Future bets have a minimum $2 wagers and are win only.
There are 24 betting interests that include 23 individual horses and "all others".
